About
About Golden Harbor
Golden Harbor is a small editorial site about indoor houseplant care. It covers three practical subjects in depth: watering schedules, light needs, and soil basics, written with the conditions of Canadian homes in mind, including dry winter heating and short cold-season daylight.
What this site is
The pages here are reference notes, not a shop and not a directory. Each article focuses on observable signals, such as how soil feels, how light falls on a windowsill, and how roots fill a pot, rather than fixed rules that ignore the room a plant lives in.
How the content is prepared
Articles draw on publicly available horticultural guidance from university extension services and recognised gardening organisations, which are linked at the foot of each article. Where exact figures vary by plant and setting, the text uses ranges and plain description rather than precise claims.
Editorial approach
- General educational information, with sources cited on each article.
- Neutral, descriptive tone; no product endorsements.
- Photographs sourced from Wikimedia Commons under their respective licences.
